The Acorn Gallery

The Acorn Gallery

The Acorn Centre in Inverurie is part of the outreach of Inverurie West Parish Church and was opened in 2008 under the Church Without Walls initiative. Located in the Acorn Centre's Hospitality Area is a small gallery space, where artists can exhibit two dimensional artwork for a month at a time.

The Acorn Gallery

Local established artists have made use of this space, but it is also an opportunity for individual artists or groups who wouldn't readily have access to exhibition space to show and hopefully sell their work.

This gallery space has proved so popular with local artists and photographers that every month until the end of 2012 is now fully booked. Gallery Co-ordinator Liz Young however is now taking bookings for 2013.

The Acorn Gallery

Since the gallery opened exhibitors have included both trained artists and enthusiastic amateurs and the gallery has been host to both professional and amateur photographers. Work in a whole range of media has been exhibited including oils, acrylics, watercolour, prints and pencil drawings. Since work hangs for a month at no cost to the exhibitor and the Acorn Centre only takes 15% commission on sold works, it continues to be a place which fosters community involvement in the arts and in the Acorn Centre.

If you are interested in finding out more and also which months are available please contact the Gallery Co-ordinator, Liz Young via admin@theacorncentre.org.
